How to make vampire teeth
by Stefano on Mar.11, 2010, during Special Effects
Here is the backstage for the construction of a denture (it is actually a crown) realism of undisputed, highly effective in making short films, live events, cosplay or just for a change’ their look depending on the mode.
L’ need is available in all stores for dentists or dental, possibly also at a good price online.
Materials needed:
- An impression tray top of the desired size
- Alginate per imprint, slow.
- Gypsum powder.
- Disposable latex gloves.
- Dough or put.
- Vaseline.
- Resin for provisional.
- Pre-vulcanized liquid latex
- Bototalco
- Silicone Impression (it only takes a small amount)
- any water-based acrylic colors
The first step is to take an impression of the teeth. This is done using the special tray and a fair mixture of water and alginate (I use Neocolloid, which is also excellent for making the cast of the face or any part of the body).
Once the slurry has been stabilized and hardened (by 3 to 5 minutes) you can clean the mouth and fill with a mixture of water and gypsum. Council to do this in two stages: the first with a very liquid mixture that is stratified throughout the footprint, It need operation during which tap the table, is to remove small air bubbles present, that in order to enable the plaster to make every detail present on the mold.
The second, every few minutes from the first, a little more dense, as a filler.
After a period ranging from 20 minutes 2 hours, depending on the plaster you have chosen, Your positive is ready.
If you have a latex liquid, I recommend using it to coat the stamp with a light film, Dab with talcum powder: This will make it much easier to loose the prosthesis as well as give a slight 'game’ made to the crown, that make it more comfortable and durable.
On the positive thus created and covered by a layer of latex, it is now possible to model your new teeth with the plasticine or clay.
After work cover everything with a thin layer of vaseline, that, as well as allow the posting of the counter that we will achieve, is also useful to give a good polish to the whole tooth.
The prototype so grossed must be placed in the freezer for a couple of hours, so that the plasticine or clay to take a good consistency.
After such an interval may be made to make the mold with key (that is, with a detail, such as a small pin located on the palate) allowing for the repositioning of the same counter.
To accomplish the latter you can use different types of materials, but I have experimentally verified that the best is the silicone impression (Flexitime EasyPutty), that breaks away from the plaster once catalyzed, is flexible and allows slight undercuts, separating the resin and is reusable !
Wait until the counter that you cast or molded on the model is hard, and disconnect it from your work again. Make sure that the work done so far has managed well and remove the dough from the positive (and if present in trace, also from the negative).
Now comes the most delicate moment, the realization of the real prosthesis molding.
Given the nature of the used substances near, I suggest you work in a well ventilated place and using latex gloves.
Liquid and powder (I used a medium color Duralay clear) be blended in appropriate quantities (about 1:1) and then poured into the mold, closed immediately with good positioning with the key you created earlier. Obviously a soft mold will make it much easier being removed.
After a variable time between half an hour and 2 hours depending on the resin used can be removed to cut the crown, remove small imperfections, lucidarla, and colored end.
In some of the attached pictures you can see how he left a large area of coverage on the gums. This is not always necessary, rather, often the most realistic prosthesis cover only the teeth. A skilful use of color and a couple of coats of clear gloss will give your life to finally sighed work.

See you soon ! 🙂

Carissimo, grazie per questo bellissimo tutorial, grazie al quale, despite repeated attempts,,it,I will be able to make a nice Joker toothing,,it,I wanted to ask,,it,acrylic water based colors that serve to color the teeth at the end,,it,they are not dangerous,,it,And in the case,,it,what a transparent liquid you mean by the final hand,,it,Thanks so far,,it,November 8th,,en,Hi Gianni,,it,the prosthesis does not need any pasta,,it,as it naturally rests on the underlying teeth with which it creates adhesion,,it,To remove it, it will be enough to remove it normally,,it,Gianni,,en,Question perhaps stupid,,it,but I do it anyway,,it,Let's say that he can make a horror prosthesis,,it,to keep it on your teeth you must use a kukident type dough or keep it alone,,it, riuscirò a realizzare una bella dentatura da Joker.

Thanks, Gianni.

Ciao Luisa, this type of prosthesis are made only for the purpose theater / film, as they are not suitable to be worn with continuity. For all those that are the functional needs / cosmetic connected to everyday life, it is necessary to consult a specialist, cioè a dentist.

Dear Stefano, I read with great interest about this dental crown. I would like to ask you if you carry one for me. I state, however, one thing: I would not”vampiresca” but with a less white esatamente but how are my teeth(I would like to use it occasionally as a cosmetic teeth since I have a bit yellowed and I goes to the whitening procedures ,I am afraid of dental sensitivity). So would you advise me this thing or do you think it's too weird my idea? If it was ok how should I proceed? Thank you in advance and cordial greetings

Ha ha.. fantastic thing dell'etilometro.. penso mi terrò uno di queste protesi dentarie nel cassettino giusto per le emergenze 😀
Seriously, I try to respond point by point:
1) I made this tutorial on the site is a mobile bridge, that depending on the needs can only cover the arch of the teeth or the upper gum.
It may be carried for both the upper and lower arch. This is something much more plausible and practice of vampire teeth that cover only the canine: covering all of the dental arch, all the teeth appear to be of one color, are much more stable in the mouth (does not come off and do not move) and do not need to be fixed in any way: being tailored fits with what is simply the imprint of your teeth, and in this way he remains steadfast in his mouth. To simply remove it and pull it down.
2) Depending on your needs can be done to cover only the teeth (Last photo of Article) or even above the gum (first photo). Advantages and disadvantages: if the bridge only covers the teeth is more realistic, actor is easier to talk, but is more subtle, therefore more fragile. If the bridge will also cover the top or bottom of the gum, is more difficult to achieve, is somewhat’ more cumbersome in the mouth but you can obtain more diverse than old style (vampire fangs starting taller than other teeth, crooked teeth or even missing from the zombies, etc.)
3) this prosthesis ('Dentures’ as you say) , being mobile, is only for stage use, the mouth can take as long as you want, we can have a drink but you can not use it for eating or sleeping.
If properly disinfected before and after use (You can use plain mouthwash) does not convey any kind of infection. The material used is safe because of dental origin.
If you have other questions are here !

But as this is placed DENTURES?
Only over the teeth,or cover the upper teeth?
In addition, could lead to infections on the gums?
Also how long or can also be held in the mouth?
From the photos looks very realistic, and it seems a real DENTURES,
so I suppose that you too can use every day or not’
keep it very hygienic?
Just 2 fa'sono hood days and I wrecked the bike
a tooth….while awaiting the outcome of the dentist would be a
excellent alternative to mask the lack of a tooth!
Must exercise an amended laugh when you look like a real vampire,
I saw a guy in London who had brought them on his teeth…..
azz…was impressone…..But it is interesting even if you stop
the road……BOFFI HERE PLEASE….IF YOU SEE THE TEETH….
MAYBE desist…..
